Can you send a distress signal in time?

Gjutare Granströms gata 2, Västerås
Lock up the bride or groom and see if the gang manages to get them out in time. A perfect start to the day, before dinner, or as a surprise. In Västerås we have 5 rooms, so bigger parties split up and compete.
Rooms for 2–6 people; larger parties split over several rooms and race for the best time.
We are happy to arrange a small surprise in the room. Mention it in the booking.
Combine with a gift card for the couple.
No alcohol on the premises, so save the toast for dinner afterwards.
Visit Västerås highlights several group activities on and by Lake Mälaren: boat trips, paddling and rowing a Viking boat. Its list also includes cooking with a chef and guided walks in the centre or among the wooden houses of Kyrkbacken. An escape room fits neatly between the day’s activity and the evening meal. Boats from Färjkajen run from early spring to late autumn, with the most departures in summer.
If the group wants a scare, The Asylum is the room. You have been mistaken for patients at a notorious asylum and must get out before Doctor E. Mendel’s rounds. It takes 2–6 players, has an age limit of 13 and is rated Hard. A competitive group is better off in the twin rooms. Put the guest of honour’s friends in The King and the siblings in The Emperor, 2–4 per team. They can race each other when both rooms are free at the same start time.
The venue is alcohol-free, so schedule the game before dinner. From Gjutare Granströms gata 2 it is about ten minutes to Stora Torget, with restaurants and pubs around the square and on Stora Gatan. Anyone arriving by train can take bus 4 from Västerås C or walk the short distance.

An escape room is a game where you are locked in a themed room and have 60 minutes to find clues, crack codes and solve puzzles to get out. You do not need to be strong or fast, just curious and good at working together. A game master follows you on camera and gives hints if you get stuck.
Most rooms suit 2–6 players; some take up to 8. The recommended number is shown on each room. Larger groups book several rooms, with the same start time when the calendar has that time free in the rooms. Several of our rooms come in two identical versions so two teams can race each other. How many can play at the same time depends on the venue and is shown on the team-building page for each city.
The game itself is 60 minutes. Allow about 90 minutes in total including the introduction before and the debrief afterwards. Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked time.

It depends on the room. We have everything from family-friendly adventures like Wonderland to horror rooms like The Asylum, The Hotel and The Dollhouse. Every room is labelled with its theme and whether it has scary elements. Difficulty is a separate thing, shown on its own. Want to know more about a particular room, for example whether there are actors? Ask the venue before you book.
No. The door can always be opened from the inside and the game master can stop the game at any time. We follow the safety rules for public premises.
No. No prior knowledge and no special clothing is needed. Bring reading glasses if you need them. Does someone in your group have limited mobility? What we have checked about accessibility is shown on the room’s page. Otherwise ask the venue before you book. We recommend not drinking alcohol before the game; it makes the puzzles noticeably harder.
It varies between rooms and cities. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are labelled on the site, for example The Detectives in Gothenburg. Contact the venue before booking and we will help.
