Frequently asked questions

Everything about how an escape room works, group sizes, age limits, prices and booking.

General

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a game where you are locked in a themed room and have 60 minutes to find clues, crack codes and solve puzzles to get out. You do not need to be strong or fast, just curious and good at working together. A game master follows you on camera and gives hints if you get stuck.

How many players can we be?

Most rooms suit 2–6 players; some take up to 8. The recommended number is shown on each room. Larger groups book several rooms, with the same start time when the calendar has that time free in the rooms. Several of our rooms come in two identical versions so two teams can race each other. How many can play at the same time depends on the venue and is shown on the team-building page for each city.

How long does it take?

The game itself is 60 minutes. Allow about 90 minutes in total including the introduction before and the debrief afterwards. Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked time.

How much does it cost?

Adults: SEK 325

Students (with a valid student card) and seniors 65+: SEK 250

Children and teens under 15: SEK 185

Prices are per person and room, including VAT. There are no hidden fees. You pay on site by card or Swish. All prices per city are on the Prices page.

Is it scary?

It depends on the room. We have everything from family-friendly adventures like Wonderland to horror rooms like The Asylum, The Hotel and The Dollhouse. Every room is labelled with its theme and whether it has scary elements. Difficulty is a separate thing, shown on its own. Want to know more about a particular room, for example whether there are actors? Ask the venue before you book.

Are you really locked in?

No. The door can always be opened from the inside and the game master can stop the game at any time. We follow the safety rules for public premises.

Do we need to prepare or wear special clothes?

No. No prior knowledge and no special clothing is needed. Bring reading glasses if you need them. Does someone in your group have limited mobility? What we have checked about accessibility is shown on the room’s page. Otherwise ask the venue before you book. We recommend not drinking alcohol before the game; it makes the puzzles noticeably harder.

Are the venues wheelchair accessible?

It varies between rooms and cities. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are labelled on the site, for example The Detectives in Gothenburg. Contact the venue before booking and we will help.

Booking & payment

How do I book?

Choose a city and room on this site, pick a free slot in the calendar and fill in your details. You receive a confirmation with a booking number by email straight away. You pay on site when you arrive, by card or Swish.

Can we book the same day?

Sometimes. Every time that can be booked, including the same day, is shown in the calendar. Staff are only on site when there are bookings, so plan to book ahead. If the calendar shows no suitable time, that time cannot be booked.

What if we need to cancel?

Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before your game. Contact the venue (phone and e-mail are in your confirmation). Later cancellations and no-shows are charged SEK 500 per room.

Do you take cash?

No. You pay on site by card or Swish. Companies that cannot pay by card can be invoiced. Tell the staff on site if you need an e-invoice.

Companies & groups

Does it work as team building?

Yes. Several teams can play in a room each and compete for the best time. Companies book directly in the booking. Pick the same start time in several rooms when the calendar shows that time free in the rooms, and the teams start together. Questions, or want help with the booking? Contact us.

Can companies book directly, without a quote?

Yes. Companies book just like everyone else: choose city, rooms and times in the booking. You pay on site by card or Swish, and companies that cannot pay by card can be invoiced. Tell the staff on site if you need an e-invoice. Contact us if you have questions, want to reserve a time or need help with the booking. Are you a larger group playing in several rounds? We are happy to look into a group discount.

Do you serve food?

No, we do not serve food. All our venues are central with restaurants nearby, and we are happy to suggest places for dinner afterwards.

Children & family

What is the minimum age?

The age is set per room and shown on each room’s page. Rooms with scary elements or adult themes have a higher age and are not suitable for children. Hotel Shakespeare, for example, is 18+. Wondering what applies to younger children and accompanying adults in a particular room? Contact the venue before you book.
