When it pours in Västerås, there is plenty to do under a roof in the city centre. Escape House is at Gjutare Granströms gata 2, just north of the railway, and bus 4 from Västerås C shortens the trip in the rain. Open times in the calendar can be booked online, even on the same day. The game lasts 60 minutes, and you will be with us for about 90.
Pick a room to suit your mood. The Space Station is rated Medium and has a clear goal: stabilise the reactor before it explodes. The Bunker is rated Medium/Hard, for those who want to fight for the whole hour. The Asylum is scary, rated Hard and for ages 13 and up. In the twin rooms The King and The Emperor, two groups can race each other when both rooms are free at the same start time.
The rest of the day can stay indoors too. Karlsgatan 2 houses the county museum and the art museum, both with free admission. The cathedral’s oldest parts date from the 1200s; inside are King Erik XIV’s tomb and an organ with almost 4,500 pipes. In the evening, catch a show at the Concert Hall or at Västmanlands Teater.

Allow 90 minutes in total: briefing, 60 minutes in the room and a little time afterwards.
Yes, most rooms can be played by two, but 3–5 people is ideal for most rooms.
An escape room is a game where you are locked in a themed room and have 60 minutes to find clues, crack codes and solve puzzles to get out. You do not need to be strong or fast, just curious and good at working together. A game master follows you on camera and gives hints if you get stuck.
Most rooms suit 2–6 players; some take up to 8. The recommended number is shown on each room. Larger groups book several rooms, with the same start time when the calendar has that time free in the rooms. Several of our rooms come in two identical versions so two teams can race each other. How many can play at the same time depends on the venue and is shown on the team-building page for each city.

It depends on the room. We have everything from family-friendly adventures like Wonderland to horror rooms like The Asylum, The Hotel and The Dollhouse. Every room is labelled with its theme and whether it has scary elements. Difficulty is a separate thing, shown on its own. Want to know more about a particular room, for example whether there are actors? Ask the venue before you book.
No. The door can always be opened from the inside and the game master can stop the game at any time. We follow the safety rules for public premises.
No. No prior knowledge and no special clothing is needed. Bring reading glasses if you need them. Does someone in your group have limited mobility? What we have checked about accessibility is shown on the room’s page. Otherwise ask the venue before you book. We recommend not drinking alcohol before the game; it makes the puzzles noticeably harder.
It varies between rooms and cities. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are labelled on the site, for example The Detectives in Gothenburg. Contact the venue before booking and we will help.
